Where Architecture Meets Nature

Robinsons Land Corporation takes coastal architecture to new heights in this part of the country with AmiSa, a leisure community project that deviates from the familiar beach shacks and traditional low-rise island development. Architect Albert Yu of ASYA Design Partner took inspiration from Gold Coast architecture and created a private paradise that addresses the demand for modern leisure island living.

Nowhere else in Cebu will one find a gathering of different architectural elements so in harmony with its naturally picturesque environment. This avant-garde residential resort in Mactan Island features a clever juxtaposition of graceful towering sculptures creating a beautiful contrast to the soft natural seascape – two 18-storey, two 14-storey, and two 8-storey residential condominiums, a hotel, and an entertainment center through the vast, lushly landscaped development.

“The resort development was conceived to allow its users to enjoy an active interaction with nature while preserving and enhancing its environment. The concept of the towers soaring above the rest of the natural site takes advantage of the picturesque views it offers,” says Yu.

Every condominium unit either comes with a view of the gardens and amenities, the inviting resort area, or of the soothing sea. Yu adds, “Every unit is also provided with a spacious balcony that cantilevers beyond the main structure of the building as a more overt sculptural composition. The union of the curvaceous balconies to the commanding structure mimics the smooth waves and the infinite expanse of the ocean. The balconies enliven the buildings with their deep and fluid shadows. Daylight enhances the beauty of this development through the large windows.”

The Holiday Landscape

Warm Welcomes

The five-star AmiSa enclave opens with a rustic lane just off the main road, framed by a coral stone gateway. A walk down the lane guarantees pleasant encounters with nature, akin to passing through a natural trellis. After passing through the entry garden, marked by a three-tiered cascade of water and lush foliage, guest are greeted by the majestic presence of a rotunda framed by six Royal palms that connects entrances to different areas of the property. To its left is the entrance to the gaming complex, to the right is the first of several strategically located parking lots that ensure easy pedestrian access to all the buildings in AmiSa. At this point, the driveway to the condominiums can be easily spotted. At the end of this lane is a grand rotunda that serves as the main entry to the resort hotel and the condominium gardens.

Project Partners

Master Plan

ARCHITECT ALBERT S. YU, ASYA Design Partners

The masterplan was done by Architect Albert S. Yu of ASYA Design Partners.  Some of its projects include RLC's McKinley Park Residences, Otis888 Residences, The Trion Towers and Woodsville Viverde Mansions, SM's Mezza Residences, Anchor Land Holdings Inc.'s Mayfair Towers.  ASYA Design Partner was awarded as one of the Top 10 Architectural Firms of the Philippines from the year 2004 to 2007.  Architect Yu is also one of the founding members of the Philippine Green Building Council, the organization that promotes green architecture.

Landscaping Design

ARCHITECT PAULO ALCAZAREN, PGAA Creative Design

The landscape architecture will be handled by Architect Paulo Alcazaren of PGAA Creative Design.  PGAA did projects for the Banyan Tree Group in Indonesia, the Song Be Golf Resort in Vietnam, the Hainan Mandarin in Hainan China, the Royal Mulu Resort Aviary in Sarawak, the Sutera Harbor project in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah and the NTUC Resort in Sentosa, Singapore.  PGAA is also responsible for Landco's Playa Calatagan.

Beach Development

ENGINEER ULDARICO TRAWON, Petra Konsult and Associates, Inc.

Petra Konsult and Associates, Inc., headed by Engineer Uldarico Trawon, will handle the beach development.  Petra Konsult has done projects for Tagaytay Highlands International Golf Course and Punta Fuego.

Hectares of Leisure

Leisure amenities are incorporated into a garden landscape that is pleasing to the body and attractive to the eye, whether viewed from the condominium or from the garden pathway below. The enthralling space even has direct access to the beachfront via a private walkway, which skirts the resort hotel and leads to an exclusive boardwalk over a jetty and terminates in a sea pavilion with a 270-degree panorama of the water.

Five-star Living

While the resort itself is a five-star facility, it is enclosed in an equally magnificent landscape, lush gardens, and a pristine beachfront. The hotel’s water frontage alone features a 259-meter beach front. The landscape design is highlighted by a ramped sand access to the beach below, as well as a spectacular infinity-edge freshwater pool that appears to merge with the sea beyond. In the middle of it all are function areas canopied with tropical palms, fit for parties and weddings. On the southern end is a grand coral-stone paved staircase leading to the beach and massage cove. Finally, sprinkled across the resort are dining destinations promising to be the choice gathering hotspots in all of Cebu.
